Psychotherapist & Author

My dedication to this field comes from my interest in working with people and being inspired by their ability to change and persevere when motivated and engaged to do so. A large part of my work is helping clients put words to feelings they have, but don’t know how to express. This comes with careful listening and exploring with the client.

Establishing a safe and empathic connection is the first step toward meaningful change.

 About

I am a licensed psychotherapist with an office in Garden City, NY. I am also a published writer, with a collection of short stories, All’s Fair and Other California Stories, to be released in September 2021.

I was trained in clinical psychotherapy at New York University. I have extensive training in couples’ therapy and family addiction therapy, in addition to individual treatments for anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. Prior to this, I received my MA in creative writing and literature from the University of Houston. I worked as a college professor of writing and literature for ten years.

The link between my two paths became clear to me when I recognized we are all living our own stories and our narratives are rich with depth and meaning. My love for human narrative is the drive behind both professions.
